Few cities are quite as similar and symbiotic as Zurich and Vienna; both are historic cities with scenic sights, rich cultures, daunting mountains, and landmark airports. So, when the idea was proposed to pair these 2 titans of European aviation in a signature event, how could we possibly refuse? We’re glad to bring back our iconic "Zurich - Vienna Shuttle" on the 5th of May between 18:00z and 20:00z for an enticing return that is sure to please.
Not only do these cities share much in the natural beauty and breathtaking charm, but so too do their airports. Both Zurich and Vienna boast a complex layout of dependent runways, complex procedures, steep descents, and towering terrain that keeps even the most seasoned aviator on their toes. But fear not; our proficient ATCOs are eager to expertly guide you through the many dense and intricate airspaces typical of Alpine airports.
If you’re looking for a challenging, high-pressure route, lined with gorgeous mountains and packed frequencies, then set your sights between Zurich and Vienna – if you’re brave enough.

Welcome to the Zurich Night, the weekly onlineday of Switzerlands major airport! Every Tuesday from 18:00z to 20:00z, expect full staffing, professional and friendly ATC service and plenty of traffic.

Enjoy one of total 4 IFR approaches or get yourself a spot as a small VFR aircraft between the big birds. VFR flights are still performed regularly despite the airport's size. This makes flying VFR to/from Zurich extremely interesting, but it's also a huge challenge which requires careful preparation. A lot of small airfields in the vicinity offer numerous possibilities for short VFR hops.

Zurich is a unique airport with a lot of operational restrictions due to noise abatement and its challenging layout. We know it by heart and love this airport with all its rough edges. And we are sure you gonna love it as well!

Enjoy full and proficient ATC service from 18:00z to 20:00z on the 5th of May. Fly south and tackle the challenging approaches into the gem of the French Riviera, or head north over the Alps for a scenic arrival surrounded by stunning mountain chains.
